Ok, I am super behind on blogging. Honestly there hasn't been all that much to say since I've had more of a normal routine lately.
I'm hanging out with the pups tonight while Mike is in Atlanta on business. Last week he was in Chicago. It's been quite a while since he travelled for work. His next few trips are to warm places so I'm sure he's happy about that. Me? I love Winter and am annoyed that we still haven't had snow this season! No, Mike, I don't want to shovel it I just want to see it.
My temp job at the Capitol ended on December 29th and I've not had much luck finding a job. Despite sending out lots of resumes, having three interviews and being signed up with two temp agencies things were just not going my way and I was starting to panic as I'm almost out of cash. Until late this afternoon. I decided to call one temp agency to follow-up and she just happened to have a clerical position with the State that came in and had not been filled. Better yet there was no interview. I jumped on it! The money is crap but it's at Fort Indiantown Gap which will make my commute about ten minutes and with gas prices rising and my car getting high on miles that is a huge relief. I'll be in the Administration office. Now since they have training exercises which include firing artillery it will be interesting to see if those send my PTSD self scrambling under my desk. We can hear it from our house so I can only imagine how loud it is when you're there! I start Wednesday and it's a temp assignment until mid-July.
Now for the excitement! My "sorority sisters" are doing fantastically well and both had a very exciting late December. Gail had her baby on the 22nd. Lydia Mercedes De Jesus greeted the world a just over 6 pounds and I am already in love with her. Aunt Stackie bought her a little baby tutu! And motherhood looks really good on the Gaileo!

On the very same day, Ashley booked the 1st national tour of Wicked as a member of the ensemble and the first understudy for Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the East), first played by Idina Menzel. on Broadway. Now while this was no surprise to me I still screamed like a little girl. Ashley is the kind of person that you want these things to happen to. Not only is she ridiculously talented but she's just SUCH a good person. I am so so so proud of her! She has gone from The Sound of Music in Maine to not booking anything to this job! And she is incredibly humbled and honored to get it. She had her first costume fitting a few days ago and posted this from L.A. where the company is playing for the month. She will make her first ensemble appearance on February 1st.

Well, that's it from here for now. Gotta get some sleep and get up early to try and get a schedule going. I've gotten my schedule so out of whack not having to get up for work.
