So I am HORRIBLY behind on my blogging and Toledo is kind of a blur now but I'll try to sum up a few fun moments!
We arrived in Toledo to find it FREEZING and raining which is basically how it was the whole time except when the rain changed over to all snow! We were excited to get to sit down somewhere (the show stays for fair length of time) and to be in a real theatre again with space! My dresser was seriously amazing too which always makes life easier. The lobby was already decorated for Christmas and I can't believe it. It seems like it was just September!
The first couple of days I was kind of in a funk
from missing Andrew and the weather and still recovering from being sick so I stayed in a lot. But then I got my groove back and started going out. We had a couple of fun group nights out at Jed's, this sports bar right next to the hotel. The weather was so crappy we really didn't ever venture far. One night was just the girls and we had fun doing shots without the boys.
Erin's parents Molly and Scott came to the show with her brother Kyle and a couple that Molly knows from her college days. Scott took Erin, me and Jeff out to dinner with them all at this nice steakhouse across the road from the theatre. We had a nice time. Her parents are a hoot! Kyle is a nice boy and apparently something of a culinary whiz.
One night we had one of our famous game nights and played our traditional favorite Catch Phrase. If you don't know it, the little electronic machine gives you a phrase from a category and you have to get your team to say the phrase. Well, Jen has some of her best moments when drinking and playing Catch Phrase. One of her phrases included the word money so she gave the clue "It's green and Jews love it!" which killed the whole room. Jen and Zac are Jewish and will say things like this, completely embracing and fulfilling the stereotype and we're always amazed and amused. We know if we said something like that there'd be hell to pay but they just crack themselves up. So then I had to make everyone guess "Jurassic Park", so I said "Okay, it's a Steven Speilberg movie with dinosaurs" and Jen yells out...wait for it..."Schindler's List!!". We had to stop the game to recover from the fits of laughter that came on the heels of THAT guess. So THAT's what happened to the dinosaurs! Amazing.
That's Toledo in a nut shell from what I recall and no it's not foggy due to alcohol consumption. Two weeks on the road can feel like an eternity ago. Sometimes we don't know what day it is and have to ask what town we're in.

Oh, so Jen is the natural choice for this "Meet the Cast" featuree. Jen is 23 and hails from New Jersey. Turns out she was at East Brunswick High School while Mike and I lived there but we never crossed paths to our knowledge. Jen is a very tiny girl, very into fitness and is a vegetarian. We actually did Fiddler on the Roof last year the the Fulton Theatre but didn't really spend much time together. Now I'm having fun getting to know her and as you can see she can be VERY entertaining!
