Another Day, Another...uhhhhh

This is over our neighborhood and it had rotation.  It was also early evening when it should have been light out.  Yikes.
Crazy weekend!  Really really nasty storms Friday night kept me and the pets awake until 6 a.m.  The storm was right over us and every clap of thunder shook the house and the lightening lit up the inside of the house.  I was afraid it would strike the house or something.  Riley hid and shook, Malaki kept bolting upstairs and fretting which made the cats all antsy and there was much hissing.  I would start to drift off and the thunder would jolt me back awake.  Saturday night we had a double tornado warning and me and the dogs had to go to the basement to wait it out.  I made the mistake of going out right after to run an errand and everywhere I went I was redirected by emergency crews because of downed trees and flash flooding.  We had more wicked weather Sunday which thankfully went south of us.  I was concerned about Mike being at his weekend job in these storms with no basement to go to.

Typical day today.  Up at 11:30 (this makes Mike nuts), clipped coupons, organized said coupons, folded some laundry, watched soaps, sent out yet another batch of resumes for a survival job, made dinner, rinse, repeat.  I am bored out of my mind and yet am having a hard time making myself be productive.  All part of the depression I suppose.  I do do stuff though.  The house is clean, all of the laundry is done, we have groceries and stuff.  Mike and I walked the boys together tonight around the neighborhood since it was so nice out and the boys were stuck inside all weekend.

Speaking of coupons, I am having fun learning couponing and getting deals!  I picked up a four pack of premium razors that retails for six and change and I paid .97, got Colgate Total toothpaste for .77, free Nestle chocolate milk as treat to enjoy in the car going home from the store.  I got ten pounds of organic chicken that normally sells for $5 a pound for $15 total.  Last week I had a coupon for a free Lay's chips up to $3.99 and then the store had them on sale BOGO so I got them both for free :)  No longer will I pay more than a dollar for deoderant, shampoo, soap and body wash, shaving cream and razors or toothpaste.  For a couple of hours a week of effort I manage to save a lot and I think it's worth it.  I'll never be one of those crazy coupon ladies you see on tv that stockpile stuff like it's the end of the world and get a thousand dollars worth of stuff for ten cents and I'm ok with that.

Right now Mike is "watching the game" and to me it looks (and sounds) and awful lot like sleeping but when I threaten to change the channel he perks up.
