Haunted Bathrooms and Heat Waves

It's week five here at the capitol complex and we are having one hell of a heat wave like much of the country.  It feels like Houston outside and the A/C is working overtime.  I have to say if given a choice between 115 with 7% humidity and 99 with 87% humidity I'm going with the 115 like I did that summer in Phoenix.  You're hot and sweaty either way but it's better than feeling just disgusting.  Yes, Mom, "It's a dry heat.".  I have this pic up next to my desk because it looks good enough to dive into and that makes me happy in this heat.

Mmmmmm Fiji
The boss lady is back from two weeks of vacation and now the other one is out for this week.  I'm glad Leigh is back because as much as I enjoy IMing with Bryden, my day goes much faster when I am kept busy and it's been a busy week.

So...I'm pretty sure the bathroom down the hall is haunted.  Ok, I know I sound like a kook, but explain THIS!  Every time I go down there I see shadows move although there is no movement in there except for me.  Yesterday I went down there and the door of one of the stalls near me slammed...hard...and no one else was in there.  WEEEEEEIRD.  "The Forum, a 1,763-seat concert and lecture hall built in 1930-31, is a state-owned and operated facility located within the State Capitol Complex. Since 1931, The Forum has been home to the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra."  Apparently they need to add that it boasts a haunted commode.

My romance with couponing is, alas, waning due to my irritation with CVS.  Every time, and I mean EVERY time I go in there to get my deals the shelf is empty so I have a bunch of rain checks and coupons that will probably expire before I get my goodies.  Annoying.  I'm still getting some good deals at the supermarket though and Mike still thinks I'm doing some sort of illegal grocery voodoo.

I saw my doc today for a checkup.  Lately my anxiety has been back and I always have this feeling of, well, anxiety, for no particular reason other than the usual stressors.  I've also been having bad acid reflux, headaches, recurrent fever blisters and the heart palpitations are back though in small doses.  So we decided to up the dosage of my crazy pills.  She said the reflux could well be from my weight gain and the rest is all stress-related.  She was pleased that I start with the shrinkydink next week to try to deal with all of this.  As time goes on I think not booking anything and running out of unemployment money was a blessing not-so-much in disguise.  It's kinda messed up that it took not booking a gig to prompt me to realize I need to deal with some things but whatever works I guess.  You know, Mom asked if I was feeling less depressed about this hiatus and I am actually.  I feel more like I'm in control of the time off whether that's true or not.  But having a plan of action and feeling like I am doing what I need to improve my life makes me feel like I have a purpose and there is light at the end of the tunnel.  Now if only we could manage the same for Mike who is as miserable as ever at his day job and feeling trapped.  We need some sort of miracle windfall so he can get on the path he wants to be on as well.

Well, that's the end of my lunch break since I lost time being at the doctor this morning.  I hope you are all faring well in this crazy summer heat.  Bring on October...PLEEEEEEEASE!!!!!
