A Great End to a Long Week

Somehow we made it to Sunday!!! The shows went great and we had nice houses. We didn't expect much of a crowd on the Fourth but it was pretty full! Right after the matinee we headed over to the cottages where some folks have been put up and had a big 'ol BBQ. We had so much food there it was ridiculous and we stuffed ourselves and got to really kick back for the first time in almost two weeks. We may or may not have had a little to drink. I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'.

Afterward we headed down to the beach where a section had been roped off for the Playhouse. The town put on a pretty nice fireworks display! Afterwards a lot of people made their way back to the cottages to swim and have a bonfire but I was so hot and wiped out that I went home and took a long shower and passed out. I slept for 12 hours!

Monday was a full day of relaxation, well, mostly. I did laundry and cleaned my room and bathroom but took my sweet time doing it. As part of the anniversary festivities for Ogunquit there were all kinds of activities going on all over town and at the Playhouse they were doing tethered hot air balloon rides! I'm too scared to take a real ride but tethered sounded good. Gail and I went up and loved it! We went up to the top of the treeline and could just make out the ocean. Afterward a bunch of us headed out for dinner. Well I watched, because they wanted to go for lobster or lobstah as they say here. As you can imagine lobster places are plentiful here. Crista and I went along to be sociable while the others ate these disgusting creatures. I don't recall ever seeing anyone eat a whole lobster and Chris kept laughing at how horrified I was by the whole process. Ick!

The girls went to see that new "Twilight" movie whatever it's called but I think that Kristen Stewart girl that's in it is maybe the least talented "actress" I've ever seen and chose to save my limited funds. I went home, cranked my A/C, poured myself an enormous glass of chardonnay and watched some train wreck television.

Tuesday was crazy hot as it was on the entire Eastern Seaboard. So sticky and disgusting that you couldn't move without sweating buckets. The show Tuesday night was a bit wonky on the part of both the cast and the audience. I think everyone was just fried from the heat. Afterward we had to go schmooze the board and upper tier donors. They laid out a nice spread and gave us drink tickets but thankfully people didn't stay long due to the discomfort. We chatted up the old monied folks and signed some autographs then headed home. We do tend to get recognized alot here, even me out of my habit which I am always surprised by. We've signed all kinds of things like napkins and receipts.

I really hate how fast this contract is going. We truly all get along great and I'm having so much fun! I'm kind of dreading August in Florida. Although I do have two appointments with equity houses there with companies that want to bring me in for private appointments so I'm excited about that! One for another production of SOM and one for Oliver!. Yes, it would be revisiting stuff I've done already but it's work so I won't stand on ceremony!

Alright, time to marry off Maria...again. She seems to get married alot!
